I’m in France at present using French gas bottles. Heading to Germany- I have a German adaptor and am wondering whether I’m best to stock up on French gas (travelling back through France) or buy German bottles. Is it possible to purchase a bottle in Germany without an exchange? What’s the price like compared to France?

I'm confused
If they are not refillable stock up with a French bottle
No not refillable. Been travelling 2 months, brought U.K. calor with us and swapped to French bottles when that ran out. My question was wether it’s as easy to buy gas bottles in Germany as in France? Or is it like Spain where you struggle without having a bottle to exchange?

I only had a 13kg from SuperU and kept exchanging that but keeping a Calor spare for when it ran out. You never seem too far away from France.
It's easy to buy LPG in Germany if you have a refillable bottle

No I don’t have LPG, using standard bottles.

Germany will require an address as far as I am aware.

Hornbach DIY stores (kind of German B&Q) sell German gas bottles, 6kg or 13kg from memory. No address needed (at least that’s what I experienced,) just pay the refundable deposit on the cylinder and away you go.
By the way, refillable is the way to go, 88c/litre in Holland currently, had some for 65c/litre in Slovakia a couple of weeks ago.
