Being dumn. What does it have wifi? Assuming signal is one way, down, I guess it means I can stream phone content rather than get an Internet signal to my phone/laptop?

Confused, what have bought it for? Manhattan free view box is normally used in a house that has a WiFi connection to allow you to receive Digital signals for TV. Didn’t think you could use it for phone signals etc.
Presumably you intend to have a MiFi fitted then fit the Manhattan between that and your TV for Tv viewing.

My understanding is the ethernet port \ wifi module are for connecting to an external internet router that enables you to receive, eg catch-up services like iPlayer, Youtube, etc.

Sorry I caused confusion. It's a freesat unit for my camper. It's this...

Manhattan SX Freesat HD Box, Black

I was just curious what the wifi Capability is for?

We have one in the van, per Phil 748 , as far as I can tell Wifi connectivity is for downloading software updates for the box.
Good bit of kit for the price though.

Thank you. We are going to a site where there is wifi so I didn't know if it could connect and act like hopspot to improve our phone signal.

Afraid not…..software updates only over the Wi-fi or via the Ethernet port. :(

do you also have a satellite dish or were you hoping to just connect the Manhattan freesat to your TV and connect to the internet
