Hi all, my wife and I are selling everything to live in and tour in a motorhome. Looking to spend about £50000 and would like an island bed and a nice size lounge area. Any recommendations please? Thanks Neil and shaz

What did you think of the motorhomes you have been on holiday in so far , how did they fit in with your type of life ?

We haven't been able to find the perfect one we enjoyed the British lay out but not the rattles

Unless anyone knows different, they all rattle to some extent. Although the ovens installed in most Brit vans can be particularly noisy.

If I was going to live in a van I would want something that was built like a brick outhouse, maybe that is why ours doesn't rattle, although we don't have an oven ;)

I would say a comfortable van with island bed and a nice lounge will of course have a decent bathroom and kitchen so it is going to be at least 8.5 metres but more likely over 9 metres, are you OK with this or are you looking for smaller.

Your question is far too open and wide and sounds to me that you have ot done enough research.

So my answer to the question'Best MH to live in?' would be 'the one you have researched well to fit your needs and desires'

I suggest starting with the type of places you wish to stop - campsites, Aires/Stellplatz, wildcamping etc. Then the countries and climates you wish to visit. These basic questions affect choices of payload, tank capacity, whether winterised etc. Yes layout is important but follows from some of the answers above.

It is no good being on a tranquil beach somewhere and finding you have run out of water or driving in southern Spain and realising you should have had aircon in the cab.

Research,research, research.

Then the answer to your question will be clear for what you want - it will not be the same as for others answering on here.

Having had American RVs and now have a German A class, to full time live aboard I would always go for an RV with slideouts, room to really relax and the comforts of home for far less money than an equivalent eurovan.
