Haven't used the Channel Tunnel for many years, and this will be the first time abroad with our MH, so this is all new to us.

When you fly, you have to provide the airline with pre departure information like your passport details, etc (and now will three be anythingelse for Covid). Is there an equivalent for the Tunnel?

We bought our tickets through CAMC. There is nothing relevant on either our booking confirmation nor their web site. There seems to be something about "Advanced passenger information" on the Eurotunnel Web site but it asks for a password which we don't have.

Have I missed anything, or am I even worrying about nothing?

Yes, you provide the information to ET before you cross. That is the advanced passenger information, also abbreviated to API
Thanks.

So does anyone know how to provide this to them if the booking was made with CAMC?

Contact them on the email address that they sent your confirmation and they will sort it. We go on the 29th and I was unable to enter the API (despite being a former Shuttle frequent traveller and it already there!). The email address is and give them the CAMC booking reference - europeanholidays@camc.com

Eurotunnel will send you an email with the booking reference and the password to login and do API. I only speak with confidence as I did it today!

FYI you also have to provide API for ferries as well now.

Thanks very much. When you said "contact them" do you mean CAMC or Eurotunnel?

CAMC. I replied to the confirmation email and the next day they sent a reply to say Eurotunnell would be in contact. In fact, Eurotunnel's email arrived first...

Brilliant. Thanks for your help.
I suppose you have found this out by now but in case you haven't, you just upload your stuff on their online thing but you can't do it till a couple of days before you go.
Wait till the tunnel send you an email requesting your details, and even then it sometimes doesn't show up till the next day.

Quick follow up question - what will Eurotunnel want from us apart from passport details (they already have ours and the vehicle's from the booking)?

Yes, found that out after getting wound up trying to complete it when I did my tunnel booking🤬🤬
You can do your API when you book but not the health bit!!

Had to hand the printed copy of the covid "pass" to the half asleep French border bloke at Dover a few weeks ago. He didn't look at it and stamped my passport over an existing stamp! Glad I printed one rather than trying to show it on my phone!

You don't have to show either if you have uploaded the online one.

Just to confirm, if you book through CAMC give them a ring and they will email your Eurotunnel API Passcode which you then use on the Eurotunnel API site. Travelled out on 20 May and all we had to show was our passports. No COVID app or printout and no check of the motorhome for non -EEC products in our fridge. The only other check was to physically see our gas bottles were switched off. Interestingly on our return the Eurotunnel operative in the kiosk simply asked if they were off and when I said they were (which they were) she waved us through. The guys checking for illegal immigrants wanted to look in the habitation area but when I asked if they wanted to look in the garage (which could hold at least 6) they said "non" and again waved us through.
On a separate note, when we left on 20 May we filled up at 1.78 euros at the LeClerc at Coquelles. When we returned on 12 June we filled up at the same station by which time it was 2.20 euros per litre.
Finally, a word of caution if buying LPG. Many of the stations had none or were out of order and when we tried to fill up on the autoroute the pump was a prepay. Not only that you had to tell them how much you wanted and pay with no refund if you overestimated. I took a punt at 20 euros and that was OK. However, an English motorhome pulled up behind me while all this was going on and asked how I was doing because he had tried at another and had been asked if his vehicle was powered by LPG. When he said it wasn't, they refused to sell it to him. Interestingly, while my wife was in the forecourt kiosk sorting out payment she was asked by the cashier "Is this for your motorhome?" She answered, quite truthfully, that it was and the woman authorised the transaction. I have the feeling that if she has asked the right question we might not have got any. Anyway, the moral of the story seems to be, find a station with prepay and get on with it. That's what we have always done but this time, as I say, so may were taped up or didn't work. We also saw lots of the signs on the autoroute which showed the prices with 0.00 next to LPG showing they didn't have any.

They (CAMC) are not great with their info on this.. they should talk you through the process rather than create anxiety .. I had the same issue with API despite having all my info already logged with Le shuttle. When you check in they will send you to queue up to log your details.. if it’s busy then … well… it’s grim…next time I’ll not bother saving a few quid and book direct

I'm not above telling fibs I'm afraid, when asked by the cashier what I wanted the GPL for I said "pour le moteur" he just shrugged his shoulders in a very galic manner and turned the pump on.

We turned up at eurotunnel without the API form and were directed to customer services who were set up to fill it in for me. So arrive a bit early and let them do it for you............have a great trip
