Hi again,

so I'm looking for some brand version advice this time . . .

I need a battery maintainer / trickle charger to keep battery topped up on mains electric while at home long term -
- which is a good model / brand ?

And need to fit a B2b device - which model / brand would you recommend ?

And will I need to know whether I have a 'smart' alternator or not before making a choice ?
.
.

As I understand it, a b2b will be fine with any sort of alternator, though is an essential with a smart one to get any sort of charge to house batteries.
Smart seems to be the current euphemism for something that doesn't work properly eg smart motorway.

I've got one of these. Seems to work well, and CTEK have a good reputation.

Not for Lithium. I have 200Ah battery, and it works fine, despite saying only suitable for 100Ah.

Limited-time deal for Prime Members: CTEK XS 0.8 Battery Charger 12V, Battery Tender Charger, Smart Battery Charger Motorcycle, ATV, JetSki, Watercraft, Lawn Mower, Battery Maintainer, Trickle Charger, Desulfation Mode (UK Model) https://amzn.eu/d/iLaVzmz

With respect to b2b the 3 main brands are votronics, victron, Stirling size you need to decide 30 50 60A. Also you need to know the main electric box Cbe / electrobloc and how any split charge relay is connected.
There are many threads on here to help. I have the extremely compact votronics 30A, a second can be added if needed 50A version also available
I dont use a mains charger as my votronics mppt controllers keepthe cab battery happy.
