Not sure whether this is the right Forum for what I am about to say, possibly it belongs in a technical forum, but I wanted it to reach as wide an audience as possible. And I don't want to break any Forum rules.
I bought a LiFePo4 battery from Alpha batteries, and during its Covid-restricted use (a calendar year, but only a few weeks touring) some odd things happened to the 12v side of my electrics. On one occasion, in the middle of the night everything shut down (a bit of a drama as I rely on a CPAP); on others there were alarms and shut downs while driving.
I sought help from the excellent Apuljack Engineering, as they had modified the control box to suit the charging regime of LiFePo4s, and they could find no fault. Recently, on a regular check of the MoHo, I found that the battery had shut itself down, and could not be woken, nor accept a charge.
I contacted Alpha, and their unhesitating response was "We'll collect it and have it tested." This was done by DC Battery Technologies, the importer and distributor. A week or so later they reported that they had identified a potential fault, and that a replacement battery was being sent to me.
During this time Alpha kept on top of the process, and kept me informed with copies of their correspondence with DC.
In the days of organisations hiding behind a list of unhelpful FAQs, and being completely devoid of any desire to communicate with customers especially over difficult issues, their inclusive approach speaks volumes to their business ethics.
I cannot recommend them highly enough, you will know that you can expect outstanding service if you buy your battery from Alpha Batteries. We don't always need after-sales service, but knowing it will be there, and how good it could be, must influence any thoughts about where to buy a battery.
As you can guess, I have no relationship with these two businesses, but having had such a first class experience, I wanted others to know that there really are businesses, still, who are responsible, helpful, and customer focussed.
