looking at going for a long weekend in the next few weeks....any tips on good overnight park ups in easy walking of pub for food etc?

Just had a few nights on a very quiet CL at High Newton, a few miles south of Bamburgh. The site is a few minutes walk from great beaches, lovely walk south to Dunstanburgh Castle or north to Beadnell and on to Seahouses. There is a great pub on the beach at Low Newton, The Ship Inn, which serves lovely food and their own beer which we visited a couple of times. There is also the Joiners Arms just down the road and the Craster Arms in Beadnell. If the walk is too much there is a regular bus to Beadnell and Seahouses.

Public car park (Links Road Car Park) directly opposite Bamburgh Castle
Run by Northumberland CC I think
Has a few bays for MH’s, prebooking only from NCC
Good hostelries in Bamburgh nearby.
Also try Eyemouth Golf Club - good sea views

It's in the process of having the trial period extended, and having just stayed at the Bamburgh links road carpark earlier this month can highly recommend it.
We did a mini pub crawl and ate at the Victoria Hotel which was exceptional.
There's high activity warning for the Northern lights tonight so we are actually thinking of booking Beadnell for tonight

Best of luck, we saw them last night all the way down here in the South Downs. It must have been a real spectacle further North and as you say more to come.
Broken Link Removed

Also, if you get as far as North Berwick, there’s free parking on the sea front road.
Go as Far East as you can on Haugh Road from the centre of town and there’s a couple of places for MH’s to stop and overnight at.
No facilities though and no eateries without a decent walk

Have overnighted at The Angel Inn near to Asda in Berwick. Not a big carpark so tight for longer MH . Easy walk to lots of other food/drink places too.
