Away in France and we had a shower earlier and we are getting water leaking in two places as per pics. When fitting does the awning rail use a seal or would the fitter run a mastic seal. I will take the van back to the fitters when back if it turns out I cannot just run a mastic seal myself ?

Depends on the location ofvthe fit and the awning type, some have specific seals, mine doesn't due to fit on edge of wall/roof, it has a pipe sealed in to the gap. This leaked this year so I had to fabricate a better solution, if yours is still in warranty take it back on your return

The awning will be sitting on brackets that make it stand proud of the MH,depending on make and model various solutions are available,

Ours has a leak right onto the step, Manic had a look and the sealant is dodgy so it just needs renewing, some have a strip that does the job.

I just ran a bead of Sikaflex between the awning & body on mine.

Mine has a rubber strip over the full length between the van and the top of the awning. Doesn't leak.

There's normally a gap between the awning and the body. There are specifically designed strips available but not cheap. I actually got see through tape of temu and put it over the gap, worked a treat and still working after 2 years.
Only trouble using mastic if you ever need to remove the awning and it might crack with the movement, at least with the tape you can just pull it off if required

Thank you for the replies. I will speak to the Tose awning guys on my return as it was they who fitted.
