Getting there!
Hi all,
I'm not sure if it is of any use to anyone but we have an Avtex L199DRS-PRO which we use on satellite and the channel list was all over the place with about 20 versions of BBC ONE and then various channels in no particular order.
After contacting Avtex they sent me an email with an attachment to load onto a USB stick and that updated the tv and now we have BBC1, BBC2, ITV etc etc all in lovely order.
If anyone has the same tv I can send them the email & instructions or perhaps contact Avtex directly for different models.
It makes watching the tv so much easier now - rather than trying to use the very small 'Favourites' button!

cheers
Chris

Just out of curiosity, when you’re out and about do you receive local BBC to your location, or BBC London. Your original multiple BBC channels may have been local variations.

Sometimes we have to retune the sat reception, so we always delete previous channels, we end up with the same as you had, everything all over the place. Would your solution need reinstalling everyone we retune?

Plus we sometimes tune into different satellites, would that be deleted?

PS I don't expect you to have the answers, I'm just talking out loud! I will speak to Avtex and get the same files, thanks for posting!

I think from what I've just read it's the same file for all of their tv's but best to check!
I just uploaded the file as instructed and the only thing it did was change the channel list - I did another update for channels although it didn't make any difference to the listings then. I don't know about other satellites as I have only used Astra 2 - I think! and I haven't ever deleted any channels - just spent ages trying to add the ones I wanted to favourites - no need now :giggle:

I used that for an update but it's for software or firmware - it's a separate update for the channel list which isn't on that link.

Cheers Chris

Hi,I have the same tv so would be good if you could pm me the emailed instructions please.

Thanks very much for the update _ so much better than sorting through hundreds of channels,

It makes it so much more enjoyable doesn't it. 🙂

Just an update for you all - Several of you have asked for the file to be able to update your channel list and they have all worked as far as I am aware :giggle: However, that list was given to me in September 2022 and all the channel 5 channels have moved now, so I have asked Avtex for the latest list and they gave me the page to download it from with all the instructions.
Having just tried it I can confirm that this latest update from their site works and all the Channel 5 channels are now working correctly
Here is the link to their site to down load the latest update:

Enjoy :clap2:

Let me just add that I found Avtex extremely helpful. My Avtex tv is of a vintage that didn’t permit for the user to update the channel list. I emailed Avtex and they sent me a firmware update that you loaded using a USB data stick which then made it possible to update future channel lists.
Avtex sent me simple but sufficiently detailed instructions as to what to do and it all worked.
