I have just spoken to Avtex and have been told that as its the tv that is warranted then as long as I pass on the proof of purchase then they would honour the warranty for the tv

That’s an absolute bargain. Near new telly delivered for £15 instead of collecting it for £250.
Or have I read it wrong (again!)
