I am trying to find someone with a 2017 scout to help me with a problem I am having with mine. With potential fire problems.

Hiya Kirkys.. and welcome to Bedlam !
Not got the same model as you but LOTS of experience with Autotrails...
Could you expand on the problem ... perhaps add pictures ?

Thank you . It’s to do with the led running lights at the back. I wanted someone with the same model and age as mine or even a frontier range so they can help me to see if there’s is over heating when the hazard warning lights Are on. I need to know if there all doing it or is it just mine.

What is over heating, and how have you determined it is overheating ?
I believe the rear lights on you model are indeed ALL LED so they should not get that hot though they may well get warm to the touch

Yes you are right they are !!! It’s the vlm5 frontier model only that is getting hot. It is reaching 150 degrees. I can’t even touch it when it’s on. I just want to know is this happening to everyone’s or just mine as I believe this is far too hot.

OUCH !!! That is def not right.. It does contain a quite complex but neat voltage control system and they DO get warm, but the key word here is warm... Not 150C !!!!
I would not like to guess at the cause but if all the lights LOOK about right I would say the unit its self needs looking at.. Much above that temp and the components will go in to thermal runaway and blow all the LEDs you have !
You say this only happens with the hazards on ?
I will try and pull up the wiring diagram for you.. May not get back to you before tonight as I have to be out all afternoon

Yes it’s only when the hazards are on. That’s why I wanted someone to check there’s to see if there’s is the same or if it’s not it must have something to do with my motorhome not the box. Either way something is wrong and at that temperature it could cause a fire. Thank you for your help

I would get it straight back to the dealer and wouldn't use the hazard lights in the meantime.

Just spoken to brown hill and asked them to check one of there’s to see if there box is getting too warm. He’s just called back to say he’s done the test and there’s is getting too hot as well. So it’s looking like it’s a recall !!!

Hola and welcome. I do not have a Scout but a 2018 Apache 634. Do your rear indicators flick on and off by themselves at various intervals? I had that issue and reported it to Adam from Sargent Electrical when he called me about a tracker issues I was having. Basically he told me that Autotrail were using the wrong type of LED lights against their advice. He sent me a new wiring harness to bypass the problem until a permanet fix could be put in place (still waiting). My dealer fitted the harness as I had no idea what to do with it. Good luck (y)
