Just beginning to plan a trip to Norway in the summer.

Any advice of ferries - booking etc.

Thinking of doing the Hirtsal - Kristiansand crossing and the going north. Coming back on the Fv17 coastal road in which I believe there are 6 ferry crossing.

I have heard that getting the Auto pass is a good way to do it as you get good discounts on the ferries.

Any knowledge on this would be good, also the road tolls and routes. Would like to get really north (Tromso) or maybe further if it's worth it and some eastern islands.

Good luck! 👍

I’m in the process of struggling to get a Skyttlepass toll tag for Norway. It starts by giving them your mobile number so they can send an SMS verification message. Unfortunately they don’t do this for UK numbers because of scammers! Why does UK have such problems when no other country has? So you have to send an email asking for a form to fill in online - I’m still waiting.
I chose Skyttlepass (not the cheapest) because it’s a one off tag payment rather than monthly subscription.
If anybody has got round the SMS verification problem how did you do it please?

Try Orsund Pay. I found it really easy to get the tag, and they were really helpful.
