Looks a good idea for back of fridge for starters?

Nice idea but wouldn't the extinguishant just dissipate into the atmosphere? I've worked with halon and similar in large industrial settings, but it depends on the protected space being enclosed.
I was thinking these might be good for battery box but I believe Lithium battery fires are self oxidising.

There must be limits anyone could go to protect themselves and their motorhome..
When fixed Fire detection and containment equipment is fitted into buildings it's there to reduce the risk of damage to an installation...computers or robotic items spring to mind and generally in areas without human presence...
The most effective set-up in a motorhome would be to detect and take steps to escape to safety..assess the situation and decide to attack the fire or not...
The risk from fire in motorhomes is generally speaking, cooking, smoking or human error..there may be a possibility of an electrical fault in any vehicle...
A good extinguisher and the knowledge of how it works is the best option.
We have smoke alarms in the sleeping area and the garage of our motorhome..

We have smoke alarms in the sleeping area and the garage of our motorhome..

Not thought about putting one in the garage! Good idea as that's where our electric gubbing are - fortunately I do have a spare so will add it to my 'camper jobs' list to sort out before we go away again.

Some of the gases they used Richard were banned, .even incredibly dangerous when they came into contact with hot metals...
The only ones I saw were in Judith's brothers rally cars...

FK 5-1-12 is a current extinguishing medium..that's replaced the nasties that were used in the past...
I've just googled it..as it's quite interesting..well better that today's football..

The item the OP referred to has an activation temperature of 170°c..more or less....I think I would like to be witnessing this from about, a few strides away from the van..
