Atera strada dl3 bike rack not working

Can anyone help....I bought an atera strada dl3 bike rack from roof box co in the autumn. I tried fitting it today for the first time only to discover that the mechanism that works the tow ball cup isn't working so it won't open to allow the rack to sit on the tow ball......problem is I cant send it back......I bought it with the intention of securing a roof box to it....so I had to remove parts with a jigsaw

We have the same, it's easy when you know.
But I no longer recommend this company that manufacturers them, they are the most unhelpful company we have ever dealt with. Bob.
