Hymer
Not really motorhome specific but kind of related..

In my old Hymer I use Apple Carplay - mainly for Waze and music, only a cheapie Amazon stereo but works absolutely fine for what I need it for.

I also use Carplay in my car mainly just for music and BBC Sounds which again works fine, however I'm finding that when I get into the car and connect to Carplay (after having used it in the motorhome), Waze is continuing to run and I can't see how to stop it - the app isn't open on my phone it is just automatically opening on the car so I guess it's remembering what I was using previously even though it was in a different vehicle.

Does anyone know how I can turn Waze off when I'm in the car? I'm sure it's something simple I'm missing it's a fairly common thing to move between different vehicles after all. I've tried rebooting the phone - having tried rebooting the car but there must be an easier way than having to reboot or restart everything whenever I change vehicles.

Thanks!!

Isn't there a way to specifically close an App on Apple?

I seem to recall something like dragging three fingers up the screen to see all the open Apps.

There is yes but the app isn't showing as running on the phone, just on the stereo thingy.... have done a bit of reading up on this over the last few day, it seems like it might be an apple "update", from what I've with certain combinations of iPhone software and Carplay stereos will automatically open the last mapping/satnav app you had opened on your phone - hence Waze opening in the car whenever I get in it after being away in the motorhome.

To stop getting the bings and bongs from Waze I've tried opening google maps or apple maps on my phone then closing them down which seems to work when I get in the car now - Waze isn't starting up on Carpaly, I'm guessing the map app is running in the background on the car but as it's not interfering with anything like having Waze running did I can live with that!!

Interesting thread as I have noticed the same issue with Waze.

I think it’s an “improvement” from a recentish software update, or else I’ve only just noticed. Bit of a pain though really
