On 4th van so not a total newbie....
We hope to stop there tomorrow for a couple of days on our way back to Calais, just wondered how busy it is, and wether there is any chance of getting in?

Nice place to stop Tony. Should not be too full if you get there mid afternoon. If you stay a couple of days you could have a good meal at the restaurant near to the entrance of the Aire. It's about 7€ per night for two people.

Easter - so who knows! We’re at Duclair with only 4 out of the 5 places filled … however it’s only Good Friday. Bonne chance! It’s never as bad as you fear, and there are plenty more lively spots in this region EDIT lovely 😁

Hi Peter, hope to be there middayish, been there many times, and love it there, peaceful, and lovely just to watch the boats passing.
Not sure about being Easter though......

Currently at Honfleur, and it is rammed, I suspect the new barriers will stop letting people in soon, looks like a dozen or so parked up on the waste ground opposite the far end.

That’s certainly what I’d expect in Honfleur for Easter. We have often used that waste ground opposite the far end - not moving from here!!!

Do you mean the Aire overflow? Stlill chargeable.
I think he means, and I do, the far side, ‘behind’ Lidl. Was useable last year, not sure if it’s closed off yet

Wh05apk we in Duclair (nowhere, really) are full (5 spaces) and have in the last few hours had a good few ‘cruisers’ who have decided not to use the ordinary car park. I’m afraid that doesn’t bode too well for La Mailleraie

Plus a couple of ‘stealth campers’ who think they’re invisible

Thanks for the updates. We intended to go to Honfleur having been in this mornings newhaven crossing, but as it is rammed we have changed our minds, stipped early and are in a virtually empty site with only two other vans at Saint Nicholas de la taille

Well done. We enjoyed our night there and would return

Just an update, just arrived and 8 pitches showing as available, managed to get prime waterfront pitch, on hardish ground and relatively level!View attachment 1045445
I’m a bit jealous of your pitch! Ours at Duclair is lovely, woodsy (but no river view) with a good town in 5 minutes’ walk. Good bus to Rouen - lunching there now. Foire à Tout tomorrow - la vrai france!

Surprisingly even now there are pitches.

Not yesterday, it wasn't.

But now it is getting busy.
You must have been at a different Honfleur!

From about 7:00pm they were being turned away at the barrier.

Well, they must have changed the vehicle count since then.

They are now parking in all the non-marked places which used to be used in years gone by.

Good grief Peter, that's cheap dining for anywhere in France. :whatthe: .................

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

Not last night, only around the edges, I said last time we were there, they were parking everywhere, with 2 rows down the middle, seems to be far less capacity than previously, although sounds like they have opened it again?

Hi kev54 fo you have any more info about buses to Rouen please

There’s a complicated timetable at the bus stop. The river side of the road is the direction to Rouen, the 530 runs from Caudebec-en-Caux to the Gare Routière in Rouen. A bit over half an hour Duclair to Rouen. Some hours have 2 buses, some have one. Paying is a bit more complicated. I tried the app MyA (or MyAstuce). It logged me and my bank, but then had ‘a problem’ taking payment for a ticket. Travel on a Saturday is free, so the driver gave up - so I don’t know if you can just pay with a debit card.
Ignore the warnings about strike action every day at 3pm - that doesn’t apply to the 530.
Do not miss the last bus back - it’s a long way on foot and you’re unlikely to find a taxi to take you.
Other than that - enjoy it. All part of the adventure!!!
