Hi guys a bit of advice would be appreciated. My brother in law is in his 80s and has never really got involved with mobile phones. He has bought a very basic unlocked Nokia phone (not a smart phone) and I’m trying to help him find a contract sim only deal. He doesn’t want a pay as you go as will forget to top up or get confused trying to do it. He also doesn’t need data but I guess he will probably have to pay for some even though he won’t use it.

Can anyone recommend a suitable plan/provider. All suggestions welcome.

TIA Chris

Smarty at £6 per month. Rolling 1month contract? Not sure if there's a cheaper non PAYG

I’m with Tesco mobile sim only 7.50 a month with unlimited calls and text and 2 gb data.

Go to smarty, the £6.00 plan includes unlimited calls and texts plus 4gb of data 👍 Double the data for 25%less
Edit: 20% saving

Couldn’t a pay as you go be set up with direct debit the same as a sim plan? If he is not going to use it much and it’s not a smart phone no point in paying for data.

iDmobile have a cheap monthly contract at various levels of data, depending on what he needs. My wife and I pay £6 and £7.

We are with Lebara (Vodafone) its £5 month for unlimited calls and texts and 2 gb (which I understand he does not need)
It is on a rolling monthly contract that you can cancel at any time

Second ID mobile great value.

EE had better coverage though.

Thanks all that’s really helpful…..that’s 3 providers I hadn’t heard of….. and much cheaper than I could find.
