My insurance is nearly due and i have been informed that i am not covered if i leave it outside my house overnight instead of at the storage yard.
I have brought it home the day before and also after travelling to load it up and unload it.
Also when my son borrows it, then he has it at his house the night before.

We use NFU and find them very competitive

Comfort allow 36 hours unattended away from the normal parking place.
Not sure whether at home when you're there is actually unattended.
When mine is at home for any reason I park my car across the end of my drive so moving the motorhome means moving my car first.

SAGA may be worth a call too. Just make sure you are specific with your requirements in any enquiry and check out (and keep) likely looking quotes. Has been known that what you asked for, and expected, wasn't what you got. Particularly the parking situation.

LV for us. bit wary at first as they only needed the base vehicle name (Fiat) not the conversion. However, a bit of research proved this was not a problem and they asked me the cost of the pvc so I was happy with that. Also cheaper if you have another vehicle insured with them.

I tried to get a quote for motorhome insurance on LV's website. Selected the motorhome insurance tab and entered the info. It didn't recognise my reg number and I got stuck. I tried again and I think it's stuck in CAR insurance even though I select MOTORHOME insurance. Given up.

Well got a ridiculous quote from NFU, over a £1000 and one from Comfort over £900! Apparently a lot to do with Postcode at home and also storage place. Storage is secure but not one of the recognised ones.
Am stressed out about the whole thing as the more you go into it the more you realise you’re not covered for this or that but fully covered if it is in storage, which is why i got it of course!

insurance is one thing which might put us off buying a motorhome . we are looking at it being on the drive at home, it will be used all year round by the family so being in storage is not an option
