If your attending an event there park in the cricket club Todmorden and catch the train. It's as near and as safe and convenient as any one wants to be to that area of Manchester.:xThumb:

Maybe stay here?
Walk to Ashton Moss tram stop and get the tram to Ethiad Campus.

I've used sites like this for parking in London when out for the evening but never thought about it for the night! Not sure I'd want to park on a drive of a house in an unknown neighborhood and sleep there. Ever done it?

That area is rife with Crims/ druggies and car thieves. I would only leave my van unattended there if I had an XL Bully trained to rip heads off. As Barsteward suggests stay at Tod cricket club and get the train, though I would see if you can get off at Newton Heath and get an Uber from there to venue, this would save you going into Manchester City centre then having to get a bus or taxi to the venue.

Otter is correct. I wouldn't feel happy leaving the camper anywhere near. I've parked in a nearby pub car park for £10 a few times but only in the banger.
