We have two Bluetti AC50S portable power stations. When I re-charge them (either by plugging into a wall socket at home or using a solar panel), the internal fan kicks in. It is noisy and runs for the whole time the Bluetti is being re-charged.

We are considering upgrading to a power station with a bigger capacity (Wh) and a higher rated power (W). We're looking at the Bluetti EB70 or the EcoFlow Delta Mini or the EcoFlow Delta. The Bluetti has the advantage of using LiFePO4 while the EcoFlows re-charge more rapidly.

However, I'm worried about whether the internal fan will run during re-charging for any of these three power stations as it is pretty loud and annoying on our current Bluettis. When we contacted Bluetti, they said the fan should only kick in when drawing significant power FROM the unit, not when charging (but it does!).

Does anyone have any of these models? Does the fan run while the unit is being re-charged? If so, is it loud?

I have ordered a delta mini, which hasn't been delivered yet. Expected in the next couple of days then I can let you know.
From YouTube videos it looks like the fans run if charging at the highest rate where it fully charges in about an hour, but don't know about other rates of charge.

We have the Ecoflow Delta and very pleased with it, we have had it for over three years. The fan does kick in when in use but it’s not loud enough to be annoying
But everyone’s noise tolerance is different.
I love the Ecoflow mainly because of the speed to recharge it.

No fan when charging my Poweroak.

Although I said above that we have two Bluetti units, we actually have one Poweroak AC50S and one Bluetti AC50S. We got the Poweroak first and the fan noise was loud when re-charging. I contacted Poweroak, who said that the fan should NOT kick in for re-charging.

They kindly sent a replacement unit, this time the Bluetti AC50S (which is identical really). Unfortunately, it has the same issue — the fan runs continuously and noisily when re-charging. Since we got the second unit free, I didn't feel I could complain again!

I did ask around at the time and some people responded to say they had the same issue while other people said they didn't. Luck of the draw I guess.

My Ecoflow River Pro is quiet when recharging, and it charges very quickly, so even if the fan did kick in it wouldn't be an issue for long.

My Bluetti/Poweroak EB70 does have the fan running when I am mains charging it, a bit noisy. Slower charging from 12V or solar panel is quieter. Others makes may be quieter but without LiFePO4 batteries I didn’t even consider them. Fast charging without cooling might be a mixed blessing with some cell types.

Thanks. The short re-charge time is something I hadn't considered because the fans in my Poweroak and Bluetti run for 6+ hours when re-charging!

I can now confirm the fans do run while charging, though they are very quiet. It is very hot today so they may not when it's colder
Because you can charge at 900w the fans wouldn't be running for long anyway.
