On our main TV I have a mini computer but I have A Fire stick on the kitchen TV, I can get almost as much on the Fire stick and if the computer fails I may well get one for the main tv.
Maybe for the home, but is it really worth it for the smaller TVs most of us have in the van? Even HD barely gives an advantage on a 19” screen...

I have both versions ,and in the van a 4k stick.
Whilst you won't get 4k (at the moment) when tethered to phone or mifi .
It is faster than the one advertised by the op .
It has been working overtime this last couple of weeks ,presently just tethered to phone on the three network, unlimited pack.

This is the old model - best pay the small amount of extra money for the 4K version. It’s not all about 4K but they have made improvements since that one was released and the 4K version is more future proof. By the way if you are able to connect your TV to the internet and view the sites you want then no need to purchase one in the first place. After about 5 years the apps on most TV’s stop working due to a lack of support from the TV makers and when that happens you need one of these.

The 4k is a no-brainer.
If you have Amazon Prime, they will even give you interest free monthly staged payments @ 5 x £6 for the 4k...
Amazon Prime also gets you lots of *legal* "free" shows and movies on the Firestick 4k...

It wasn't ment to be a definitive answer as a rough rule of thumb streaming uses 1 Gb/ hr. If you can lower the quality the amount of data used will be reduced. It's just that I watched an F1 race last year and it used up 7 gb and dropped out on the last 3 laps. Aarg! I didn't realise you...

We have both the old and new one, we also have amazon prime. I’m my opinion it’s worth it as you get the following included

If you have Prime. Costs £79 a year. I used it primarily for getting Amazon stuff in the post cheaper/quicker.
But you also get the above "free" on a Firestick, with Prime.

As the post above says it cost £79 a year but you can save that on postage if you buy from amazon.
The TV doesn’t have as much as Netflix but has loads and getting better all the time.
So it’s not free!! Thought so?
They are selling both versions of the firestick at Currys/PC world at the same price as well, I ordered the 4K version as it's get a better processor etc than the older version which I've had for a while. Delivery only took a few days via Royal Mail, I think delivery times can be up to a month now from Amazon even with Prime.

Free if you already have Prime, or think the benefits of signing up to Prime will pay for itself versus the postage paid for buying goods off Amazon piecemeal....
I've got prime and it's great value for the money, got a cheap annual subscription on black friday. I'd heard that Amazon delivery times had increased because of the lockdown etc but apparently not! ? Good to know if it order more gadgets ?
