Does anyone know of a diesel hydronic/wet heating system alternative to Alde that could be plumbed into and existing Alde system ?

Alde have brought out a diesel version but they say it wont fit because of the diesel heater having a completely different flue. Its installation space is laid out very differently too because of this

Have a look at the systems Westfalia fit to their vans. Diesel powered wet system for both heating and hot water.

Are you talking about a specific case/installation when you say you were told it wont fit? I've been told it's not a direct swap for the reasons you mention, but doable if there's some room to play with. Alde FAQ suggests the same.

I told them the make and model etc of the van and that was the reply I got from them.

There is a company in Germany that do this conversion.
Steve and Denise put me too them last year.
However at 5k it wasn't cheap.

I found my email. If interested drop.me an email and I'll forward their spec list.. but this is the answer. Its a webasto diesel heater integrated in to the current alde system..
Im seriously considering having it done on the way home.
Cost was/is 4700e

Thats interesting, the fact that they have already completed the conversion on a few vans sounds encouraging too. Quite pricey though. It would be interesting to hear from people who have had the conversion to see how it compares to the Alde performance.

Is this using a Webasto warm Air heater or a hydronic Thermo top?

No idea, but they informed me yesterday that they can not work on British registered vans due to tax issues.

I spoke to a UK Webasto supplier looking to add diesel to Alde, they said it can be done had done it once using a heat exchanger. But they were not keen on doing it, apparently they checked with Webasto directly, their reluctance was due to warranty issues, operation and it not being terribly efficient. Lots of excuses so not pursuing with them, may check out other firms or Eberspacher🤔
