As the title suggests, we are planning going to the Allendale tar barrel festival on New Years Eve and planning for the first time to wild camp, we usually go in the car.
I know of only one spot where this may be possible, and I have seen vans in previous years in the place I am thinking of, however other than this one place the roads do not lend themselves to wilding.
Question, is there anyone on the forum familiar with the area who could point me in the right direction, punintended.
Many thanks,
Norman. :xThumb:

We went there last year Norman. We parked just at the bottom of the hill in beside the buses. Its £10 a night if I remember inc EHU. I can get the number for you from MicknMew if you cant find it.

Sandra, I would appreciate that and didn't know of it cheers.
Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, :party2: :party2: :party2: :party2: AGAIN.

Norman, I'm meeting up with Mew in the morning so will get you the number then if she doesn't reply to my message tonight.

Nigel Baynes 01434683269. it's the same number as the taxis, just say it's for camping.

Nigel is an old Round Table and drinking buddy of mine haven’t seen him in years

I think I can guess where you are thinking about parking and it is probably the most convenient place. There are many quiet country roads around about the area where you would be able to park up, just depends upon how far you are prepared to walk. As you know it gets extremely busy and can be quite lively at times so being slightly away form the centre may be a good idea.

Forgot to add, there is usually a ceilidh in the village hall before the fun starts, if that's your sort of thing, but you would need to book tickets in advance.
