Anybody know if off site parking is still allowed in Tavira area

There is a height barrier on the park near the new market, new signs have been erected near to Fort Rato, whether there is a general clamp down I don't know.

What I do know is the new camperstop near to the Shopping Mall is quiet as is the camp site.

I have not checked on the small free spot at Sta Luzia but I presume that the paid for parking area 200m away is still available.

No doubt there will be places where you may get away with it, not much of a holiday if you are worrying about being moved on and fined.

Thinking of traveling down for Xmas. But been told they have clamped down on parking and as paid parks are generally full not sure what to do.

Very unlikely that the paid parks will be full this year in my opinion, lots of regulars on our site not coming this year.
Normally after Christmas when places get full and this will not be a normal year.

When we were last there in early 2019 we were told by some local Brit ex-pats that it was being clamped down on, they'd been 'warned' when at Fort Rato for having their pop-top roof up! We were due to go there again last winter but on our way were told they had put up new signs banning overnighting there and in many other locations along the coast so turned round and went back to Spain.
