Hi

We are currently staying on a campsite with EHU. The heating works perfectly ok off the gas supply but when solely off electric, it doesn’t work at all. The hot water doesn’t heat either unless the gas is switched on.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Is the electric symbol showing on the control panel to confirm it is present? If not, you may have a tripped mcb or a switch somewhere.

If it is present make sure electric mode is on.

You don’t say which country you are , if abroad the available power is sometimes as low as 6amp but in the UK can be upto 16amp which would allow you to set the power on your system higher and give you heat.
Gas is far better in providing efficient heating and once the MH is warm it doesn’t eat gas so not necessary to worry.

Depending on what spec your Alde have, they can turn off the electric option if not enough amps available

The panel on the left is the Alde one. I can select 1,2 or 3 KWs but it makes no difference.

We are in the UK. I believe the supply is 16 amp. The heating with gas is great but it’s a pity to pay for EHU and not use it.

The settings look ok but I can't tell if the hook-up icon is lit up on the right hand panel.... are you sure you are getting power from the hook-up?

Yes we have power for everything else. The hook up icon is lit and all sockets, lights, tv etc. work perfectly.

There is no symbol for the electric showing.

They are usually on their own breaker, check the fuse box.

Plug symbol should be showing top right. If it isn’t, you don’t have mains power to the Alde.

Also, ensure you have selected electric to be used before gas or turn gas off on the panel to make sure it isn’t the gas working that’s producing the heat.

As per post 4, if you have a load monitor on your Alde system and its set to 16 amp, unless the site hook up provides that, the system will not work on electric. The monitor can I believe be set to 6 10 and 16 amp.
So something to check and also whether the site is indeed proving 16 amp as you have said, if you do have a load monitor.

The monitor will alllow whatever use it is set at. If it’s 16 you can have the lot, even at 5amps it will work, just slowly.

The System will work regardless of what it is set at, just at a much lower rate if the amps are set too low.
