Have air suspension on our Knaus. Have had it two years now and it has always squeaked, but Im sure it is getting louder and certainly more bloody annoying. Is it the air bags or leaf springs? Any ideas?

I think you need to lubricate it with some of your fine ratatouille ?

On the serious side front/rear/Al-ko take a look underneath with a camera if not sure and pop some pics up of the chassis for ID ?

Well I am pretty sure rubber air bags cant squeak because they are rubber, so it must be the leaf springs and their appendages like bushes etc. These would squeak even without air assist if they were not maintained regularly.
I guess its bloody annoying but have a look at the leaf springs, if not get a mechanic to get it on a ramp and inspect them close up as they do have a hard life and are fully exposed to the elements.
I hope its a simple lube job to solve the problem.

some leaf spring bushes squeak badly. fiat have come up with a modified version for that reason

Agree with the last poster, almost certainly the bushes. It's a cheap and simple fix.
It's been some years since I had mine done, but at the time it was less than £100.

You haven't mentioned your chassis or vehicle age but if its an X250 Fiat it's going to be the bushes. I've recently replaced my spring shackle bushes following the advice of another forum member who's handle I've forgotten. Bought the parts from Coastal Motorhomes (from memory) and fitted them as soon as I found the time. Wasn't that expensive but was harder work than I expected after watching the video, probably because the bushes were so deteriorated.
Boy, it's transformed my life! Gone is that constant squeak which always seemed worse at low speeds on campsites and through towns over the sleeping policemen. We now have a ride that is the envy of Rolls-Royce owners - well, nearly!
Good luck
Steve

Thanks one and all, it looks like spring bushes are getting the vote. I will investigate when we are back in UK.
Thanks to big Steve, don't think my rats will fix this mate. Hope you and the lovely Denise are well.

Does anybody have any part numbers for the required parts please.
Thanks
Andy.

To answer my own question.
These are the NEW design of chassis bush

These are the old design of chassis bush kit

or individual bush

Then there is a choice if you wish to change the ones in the spring themselves as there are two leaf spring widths. 70mm or 80mm
