Adria Twin Inverter

I have just taken delivery of an Adria Twin and was thinking of installing an inverter. This is mostly to recharge my ebike when travelling, although I'm sure I'll find other uses. Does anybody have a recommendation as to the best location for this? I realise that close to the battery is best, but an outlet in the rear garage would be practical.
Also, any recommendation on which to purchase and ease of fitting for an average diy'er

Place the inverter as close to the batteries as particle, then run the 240 lead to the rear garage. Less voltage drop and easier to run a single three core mains cable than two thick 12 volt cables.
