Bessacarr E442
Hi i need access to the 120 degree camera on my 2018 bessacarr 442 to check out why it has progressively lost image ( i suspect water has got in as it first showed up after a bad storm i went through).

My issue is that they are covered by a grey cap which integrates in with the rear high stoplight , there are no screws and i have heard it's held on with either double-sided tape or velcro. I have had a gentle go at removing it but it would not budge.

Sargeant the supplier do not sell individual camera units but only the pair including the bracket , it is prod code SV120-(NO IR) and is on a 6 pin small din as opposed to ebay types with IRand on 4 pin.

Has anyone travelled this route before can you get a single camera from anywhere and also if you have managed it, what is the secret of the grey cover, any advice
much valued.

Many thanks

Ssilvo (steve)

that looks like it , right i don't mind getting a bit tough with it now,now its just the camera ,

I’ve just joined after finding your post. I’ve had v similar problem and had a look at my camera with a view to replacing it. Were you successful? I can’t find a 6pin replacement camera. Any advice please? Many thanks

You have to get the camera from sargents and they really make you pay for them .regard the fitting of them its simple once you get access .The silver cover at the back is held on by velcro and a large splodge of secoflex at the bottom .

Thanks SSilvo. I had taken off the plastic cover to find to my dismay, that the electrical connections were covered only by decorating masking tape. One camera has water ingress and is goosed. I’ll contact Sargent tomorrow and bite the bullet and buy the double camera. SV120 no IR from your previous post. Fitting looks straightforward but grateful for advice. It’s in the doing of course!
Thanks GeoffnDee. I looked at their website and went through all cameras but no 6 pin. Think I’ll try Sargent see how that goes. Thanks for your help.

Rosco1 If Sargent cannot help have a look at the Adaptors and leads section in the parking cameras.com website as they do a 6 x pin to 2 x 4 pin adapter that may be useful if you decided to fit another type of camera set up. (give them a call if you are not sure)

Ours was cloudy. Condensation was blocking the view. Hubby removed ours, dried them out and resealed with small tube of Headlight sealant. Working perfect now.

Suggest taking photos of your camera and contacting O’LEARY Motorhomes. They helped me with a replacement for mine.

I’m the second to ask Sargent this morning (!) and they don’t do them any longer. I’m going to see if the damage to the wide angle(looking down) camera is terminal, because parking cameras.com, as mentioned above by GeoffnDee, have single replacement cameras which could fit, and a 4-6pin adapter.
I asked the guy at Sargent if all 6pins are used; he guessed yes, so why are other systems 4pin? More investigation needed.
