We are at our favourite Spanish site. No children allowed though dogs welcome. The 42 pitches must be each at least half the size of a football pitch, the biggest I've seen, delineated by hedges which are not fully grown yet.
Run by an English couple who have worked really hard, baking bread every morning, bar and restaurant. Clean toilets showers, nice pool. ACSI discounts
AND THERES NOBODY HERE EXCEPT US.
Site is El tranquilo just outside Pinoso (bars, restaurants, two Chinese supermarkets , market day Saturday)
It would be a great pity if this was not successful, come on down, its just inland from Alicante.
We have no financial interest just want it to be successful so we can continue coming here..

We are on a mini euro tour.

The Netherlands
Germany
Switzerland
France
Andorra
Spain (to our house)

We have seen 9 UK plated vehicles and motorbikes in 10 days.

We are currently on a campsite in the Black Forest, with visiting German friends. They tell us there have been very few brits this year.

We only intended to stay one night here….

But they gave us free train & bus tickets for three days (longer if you stay longer). Weather been good so we stayed 3 nights.

Do you have a link to the place you are staying at ?

Been in Euroland for just over three weeks. Only seen a handful of UK registered vehicles. We are the token Brits on a site with probably 100 vans at the moment on the Mediterranean coast of France.

We are all at Venise Verte at Coulon! 35 degrees today and 35 - 31 for next week

Spanish love kids, maybe it’s why they stay away?

We're now on day 26 of our jaunt around Europe (mostly Germany so far, but currently in Austria) and having cleared Calais only seen a total of 3 other UK registered motorhomes / campervans. We do tend to stay off the beaten track though - only stellplatz and wild camping / off grid parkups so far. No campsites, although that's likely to change once we're in Slovenia and Croatia.

We are heading there tomorrow, currently in Haliotis Pontorson the site is just about full, about 12 Brits and a mixture of Dutch, German, French, Belgium and 1 Spanish caravan

The site is full every night. Doesn’t seem to be bothering anyone.

Quite a few brits in the Loire. Been a number on each of the sites we’ve been on. Also seen a few on aires.
At Chartres at moment and a good number here
Strange as last year we barely came across any during the whole of September.

We store our Motorhome there and stay there often at the start and end of our travels.
As you say a lovely site run by a fantastic couple, say hello to Carolina and Terry from us(Ken & Kath)

It looks as though they are open all year. Would it be a pleasant place to stay for say 2 weeks over Christmas?

It's a very quiet time in Spain. I expect they'll be full over the winter. We were there at the end of March, amd it was quiet again by then.

If you like quiet, then yes....secondary transport would be beneficial, it's a bit out of the town.
Could be a little cool at night as it's tucked away in the countryside..
Might be OK for a few days, but could be a little testing to do a couple of weeks.
Services great, small restaurant on site...

Thanks Martin - very helpful. David

We are on a very peaceful site in Germany. We came to see German friends and stay in the Stellplatz in the town. But the Stellplatz was too dark, tight spaces..

Now at camping

With a trip to Freiburg yesterday

El Tranquilo os our favourite weekend getaway location, as only an hour from home yet a world of difference, and Terry and Carolina are the perfect hosts. Shame they have out it on the market as they have done so much there, but understand they want to travel again now so hopefully any new owners in time will keep its DNA as it is as such a lovely location
