Hi All. Help....Can anyone suggest how to best solve my fogged offside headlight asssy, its MOT is due soon.

When you say fogged do you mean the external lens is fogged, or the reflector fogged or mist between lens and reflector?

Edit, is it a plastic lens?

If its damp inside remove a bulb and use the wife's hair dryer through the hole...

If it is moisture, then as others have said you need to get it nice and warm to dry it out. Best to remove the whole unit and remove all bulbs to allow air to circulate.
My next step would be to try and find where the water is getting in, most Ducatos have a scuttle drain hole immediately above the headlamp adjuster. I have made simple plates to divert the water so it does not flood the adjuster.
Also whenever I rebuild lamps I add bags of desiccant, there is plenty of room inside your lamp. This will give good protection for quite a while by drying the air inside the housing.

If it's a foggy lens (on the outside) then I've had great success with this. Worked a treat on my plastic windows without leaving loads of small scratches which T Cut or similar always does.

Thanks everyone for your advice. As recommended, I've just taken the whole headlamp unit off the vehicle and emptied out a half ltr or so of water! and found the likely reason why it got there...... the shop from whom I purchased a replacement bulb possibly over 12 mths ago, who also offered a fitting service, failed to fit the rubber boot properly!
Again, many thanks to one and all.

I had this on my Fiat X250. I removed the headlight unit, removed the bulb, dried it out with hair-dryer (not too much heat as it's plastic) found the lowest part of the lower bottom housing (NOT lense) and drilled a small hole. This allows air circulation and drainage.

I used toothpaste on the outside works for about a year

If it is dull and looks misty. I would first try some t cut or some g3 polishing compound.
give it a good rub with either and a clean soft cloth a small area at a times then polish off with another clean cloth.
hopefully it’s the outside plastic degrading as this will cure it.
if not it must be inside and will most likely require a new fitting or remove the bulb and the flow of air should dry it out.
