I feel the need to start planning but need some ideas.

With OH having been unwell since May, and NHS continually moving him from one 4 week waiting list to another, we have missed our summer holiday and are unlikely to make October either (we’re tied to school holidays as I teach).

So, Easter is the next chance. We have have 18 days in total, travelling from Scotland. My ideal would be to head down to the South of France, which is where we have been last 2 Octobers, … but I have some recollection of a Funster, possibly Lenny HB ?, arriving there in April to 5 degrees C.

Any other ideas for just over 2 weeks?

Do the band of brothers themed trip to see if it can be done in that timescale. If not, I will adjust my itinerary accordingly!

Basically you can be my guinea pig 😂

I love posts that involve a bit of Googling. Not sure I’d choose that tour for a bit of spring warmth but having done Rotterdam - Dortmund - Mosel - Necker - Rothenburg ODT - Fussen - Alpenstrasse to Berchtesgaden - Chiemsee - Regensburg - Mosel - Holland in 2 weeks I am confident that your Band of Brothers trip is achievable 👍

End of September last year we were still in the north it was here.
Yes, I remember October was cool on mornings until about 11am and the heat went about 5pm. But, as Scots, sunny and 14-15 degrees in the middle of the day would be perfect summer weather …

Not holiday weather until it's above 30°

18yo son has just arrived in Greece, having landed a sailing instructor job there for a month before Uni starts.
His first words were ‘it’s like a sauna, wish I’d worn a towel’.

We spent 3 weeks in Provence this April. Looking at my Polar Steps, temperatures ranged between 15 and 23 degrees. We had no rain, but the Mistral was quite strong at times.
Would definitely go again in April.

If you have a look at this website (wunderground.com). This is a site that collates Personal Weather Station (PWS) around the world. You can look at a PWS near to where you want to go then look at the past weather history for April.

It will give you a idea.

We have been the same in Scotland (NW Highlands) - it’s just so unpredictable, hot and sunny one year, sleet and hail the next 😂

I thought that 4 seasons in one day was the norm ;) :whistle2:

Thanks - we will be first 2 weeks of April as my holidays are fixed but starting to feel I can get a little bit excited now. We just need MRI to come back clear then 🤞 we get a. date for the operation this year.
