1995 Ducato 5th gear synchro gears.

I have just been quoted £536.00 for the requisite bits to replace my 5th gear and synchro.
This quote was from Fiat for supply only!

Has anyone any other suggestions of where to obtain these parts.

Should I start a separate thread of answers to Fiat!!!

Try goggling recon gearboxes :thumb: It should be cheaper to fit than buy the parts :thumb:

May I ask why your replacing 5th and syncro
is it damaged, or are you after doing the 5th gear upgrade

ps we do the 5th gear upgrade inc parts labour and vat for less
so somethings not quite right

Since you are in sherborne, check out the geabox place in salisbury - I will try and find the name for you - very good indeed - and will remove,rebuild and refit your box for that money!!

got my parts from a fiat dealer in hull around 350 quid 2 years ago no need for gearbox removal etc did mine on drive no jacks not even wheel removal just take tin cover from the end of gearbox off and swap bits 1 hour max.:thumb: takes longer to refill with oil (search ducato fifth gear replacement) you will find loads of information

i got 5th gear from citroen services they also included 4th gear which i never asked for cost me £ 98 local guy fitted for 100.seemed an easy job i was initially quoted £395 for parts from fiat dealer so worth shopping about.

Thanks for all replies, have found a supplier in Somerset Nr Bridgewater who will supply and fit for £340 or supply only £150.

Now for the replies to Fiat !!!
