4Smart

New to MoHo's and now owning a Smart ForTwo 451 Grandstyle Cabrio as our Toad. We were staying in Cheltenham in March when suddenly we couldnt select reverse !! Googling the problem led us to believe it could be very expensive but some of the symptoms and error codes weren't displayed. We found 4Smarts through an internet search and was asked to bring the car in early and they would have a quick look and see if they could diagnose it quickly. Thankfully, after half an hour it wasnt as bad as first feared. It was a selecter lever issue and not clutch/actuator or gearbox itself. They said if I could leave it with them for a few hours they could sort it but I had no way of getting back to the site. Giles lent me one of their cars and a few hours later it was fixed. I wanted to add some extras to the car as some extras such as heated seats already have wiring installed but sadly my Smart didnt. However, Giles said I have additional wiring in place for a subwoofer which was prepped with the factory fitted Alpine stereo upgrade but the sub wasnt specced. Q from Giles was ... " do you want one"? Answer was "do you have one"? He replied "yes ... ". I ssked how much to fit .... he said no charge because the seats were already out to gain access to the gear selector console to replace it so no fitting charge if done now". I checked ebay to compare prices which were the same but plus postage and then the fitting etc so I said yes cos it was a no brainer. Sound system now has massive improvement. How many places might have added uneccessary fitting charges for that !! Giles is definately an honest and decent person and I am already scheduled in for a full service for the next trip to Cheltenham. He has an abundance of knowledge, a stack of Smarts which he keeps for good useable spares and really has a cracking little business going there. Highly recommended by me

I have used 4Smart quite a lot. Giles (the owner) is always polite and extremely efficient, what he doesn't know about Smarts isn't worth knowing. He has a good supply of used parts which can keep the bill down and also sometimes has used Smarts for sale.
