Possl 2 win
Exp
40 years
Drove from Perth to Plymouth Sunday, got the 22.30 ferry to Roscoff Monday night, drove from Roscoff to Irun Tuesday then Irun to Lisbon Wednesday. Rained all the way but didn’t have any idea of the devastation in other parts of Spain caused by the storm 😐

Flipping heck that's a lot of miles in 2 days I would take 6 or 7 days to do that
Aye my holiday was nearly ruined after being delayed by 2months attempting to change to an A class so had to monster my way down to Portugal in my old faithful Possl 2 win 🙄
Sitting on the sofa quaffing baileys and cadburys buttons with my partner who heads back to Scotland in a week!
Normally takes me 4/5 days at a steady 60 mph (35.5mpg)

My missus was already in Lisbon!
We had planned for me to drive the van down meet her at Lisbon airport then spend 2 weeks together there then drop her off at the airport and me to head off on my own for 2 months 😁

Let’s just say it didn’t work out…..
and to cap it all to cancel the insurance today I was advised I would only get £450 of my £950 premium back…. the gift that just keeps on giving…….😡

What I said was not quite correct should have said they don't like some makes of A Class particularly Carthago.

I was with Comfort (Aviav underwriters) for the Hymers but the new van they wanted £1000 and could drive it away from the dealer without alarm & tracker fitted also when renewal was due would have cost £200 to cancel when the new one arrived in 2 months.
Changed to NFU £300 cheaper no alarm or tracker required and no cancellation fee.

Wow, that’s some going🙌🏽
We’ve been thinking of doing something similar next year as our kids don’t travel well - so the missus was going to fly with the kids and I was going high tail it down.
On another note is Simon with the Moho otherwise known as Northern Motorhome Buyer on eBay/market place?

Now thats a proper drive. Reminds of when I was driving trucks around Europe in the 80`s and 90`s!

There was always one on the ferry or in the Wheelhouse in Dover who had done similar :rolleyes:

As we age I think we all don't get as far as we used to in a day. During my Andalusia trip I did several 250+- mile days. After two or three in a row, I felt quite knackered.
Know what you mean ,now have terminal fibrosis of the lungs, same as Jonny Walker so need to make the most of my life as I can.

250-300 miles a day (400 at a push) is enough for me.

Although I've done a couple of 550's miles in a day recently, but I'd not go further,
as that is 12-14hrs in 'drive' mode and no one can concentrate to the level required for that long.

In the event of an 'incident' even if it was not your fault, the boys in blue would as a minimum mark it a materiel fact, and your insurance company may agree with them.

I said the same but was convinced on this very forum that the dealer I bought from was the best ever but I was let down badly and will never buy from a dealer again!
Are you ready to divulge what was on your other thread ref the A class
