You need to book this one up over the phone and I employed our man at the campsite to help us out with that then found out you can book over the internet. You need to be there at least 20 minutes before the bus goes off as you have to buy (extra) a 4.50 euro bus ticket from Bad Eissenkappel information Centre with yet again unbelievably clean toilets.
The bus is a full on comfortable 53 seater or equivalent and the journey takes 20-25 minutes up steep forever hairpinning forested road til you get the entrance. You then have a letter as to which group you are in. Groups of about 15. You can pay 2 euros for a translation device to share. You put on a hat. I would have hit my head 5 times at 6 foot so worthy of doing it up properly. Clothing for 8 degrees C is required. You then have your photo taken which you can purchase later. One person is designated last man. Then through the low passageways but no photos whilst walking. Only at designated spots.
It was one of the better caves we have done over the years but different as no cavernous openings.
At the end you have 30-40 minutes to get a beer or coffee and we got 6 cave takeaways for 10 euros and 500g of local honey which I checked to ask if they had been sugar fed or not and I got a confident "NO" so quite happy with that price.
A viewing platform overseeing the valley offers good views if you take the photo when there is no cloud.
