Burg Hochosterwitz Kärnten card

The first of our Karten card uses.

We paid 82 euros for 5 weeks of selected museums, cruises, ski lifts, panoramic roads, swimming pools etc.
This would have cost us 19 euros

The castle is first mentioned in about 860 but the present owners have had it since 1571. There are 14 gates to penetrate for any offensive army and it's fair to medium on steepness levels.
There is a lift that goes up but that would incur a cost and you would miss out on the fun of gradually getting the views from the corkscrew winding road.
Plenty of rest points but it only took 20 minutes or so to get up there.
Restaurant and souvenir tack shop at the top with museum which was worthy of 5 minutes.
Most impressive when approaching the castle from main road.
It warmed up while we here. Motorbike jacket for the way up was too much.
We also noted a coffee sign for 7.90 and another for 3.80. neither were checked !
Church done on the way down
