Just picked up a Van Conversion a week ago.
Always had a MoHo with a Gas Fridge.
Now we find the Electric Fridge is draining the battery, totally useless for a Rally or off grid.

Dealer has said the Fridge would only last 2 days even though we have solar panels. Can’t be converted to a gas fridge a no vents in the Van.
Has suggested a further Leisure Battery. Definitely not recommending a Lithium Battery, says they are in their infancy and you need a special dealer to fit it.
Even if you found one that fitted. I know some people are quite keen on these?

How do other people manage? Massively disappointed at the moment and need to speak to manager tomorrow as feel rather fobbed off at the moment.

Unable to use a generator. Your thoughts please.

The problem with the 3 ways sold in this country is they are designed to work in temperatures of +10C to 32C. Take your motorhome to the south of France or Spain and it struggles unless you fit fans to help cooling. I did have a 3 way on holiday that was designed for 18C to 38C and it was so much better. Also the freezer temperature can’t be controlled independently of the fridge temperature.

I replaced our 3 way with a compressor and I’d never go back.

That dealer way off there, I've had lithium leisure battery for 4 1/2 years now, they were quite expensive our is a 320ah and cost £1700 I got it cheap as well. They are loads cheaper now, it's best to fit as much solar as you can afford that will you can fit in the space you have and same with a lithium leisure battery. This is to fit our needs as we spend loads of time off grid, but that's just for us, your needs may be different.

Try Fogstar lithium batteries they’re super good value and come with all the bells and whistles as standard. Mine bought recently is a 300ah Lipo4 £700. Bargain.

pay silly money for a 12v compressor
300€* I paid for mine last november with 3 year overall gtee & 12 years gtee on the LG compressor.Never been off since I installed it(y)

* 90€ cheaper in the Canarias
I can't understand why you would want to be without it.
Huge quantity of energy in LPG bottle.
When using my 3 way running on gas it would last approx 3 weeks . at the Uk calor 6kg propane price that was 12 pounds a week .Compressor fridge has paid for itself already
Take the motorhome to the south of France and I struggle with cooling. With or without fans.
you need a compressor fridge. been 26º inside my van during the day for weeks here & fridge side is towards the sun all day yet the fridge sits @2 -4º with the freezer compartment at around -16º.
I will let you know how it performs once we are up into the 40º temps

Just to give a different experience with running a 3 way on gas.
Mine, all day on the sunny side of the van, 38c outside temperature, no fans, fridge 2-4c, freezer compartment minus 10c.
That was for 2 weeks.
Same results over another 2 week period where it averaged 36c 🤷‍♂️
