Where are you staying in Monte Gordo? On the campsite or wild camping?

We stayed on the campsite for 6 weeks the first winter we were away (2007) - what a dump that is!!

Last year we had a couple of nights on the car park opposite - much better!

Thats where we will be on the carpark oppisite,we met up with freinds there a month or so ago and now three campers will be meeting up there,lovely spot and with the new aires at Castro Marim so easy to empty and refill for a couple more days,Trev

I can recommend nipping to Vila Real, and getting the ferry to Ayamonte. Its a lovely little town.

Yes I agree - we did it a few times! lovely little town and it's in Spain!
