INAUGURAL RALLY

ASHBOURNE HEIGHTS CARAVAN PARK,
FENNY BENTLEY, ASHBOURNE, DERBYS.DE6 1LE

FRIDAY 24TH JUNE TO FRIDAY 1ST JULY 2022 (7NTS)

We have great pleasure in inviting all subscribing Funsters to an Inaugural Rally at Ashbourne Heights Holiday Park, Fenny Bentley, Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

Ashbourne Heights is a full facility camp site with a small indoor swimming pool and shop. The site has washing up facilities, toilets, showers and even a dog wash which we are free to use.

It also has a children's play area that is probably the best I have seen. Apparently the staff on site spend a lot of time getting adults off the rides!

It is adjoining the ‘Tissington Trail’ which is a converted 13mile ex railway track now used for hikers and bikers that runs through the heart of the Derbyshire countryside from Parsley Hay in the North to Ashbourne, some three miles away to the South.

The Tissington Trail

Bikes can be hired from either end of the line. Ashbourne has restaurants and Supermarkets. Tissington village itself is a ‘Chocolate box’ village about a mile from the site.
There are three pubs, (one of which certainly does good food) within safe daytime walking distance and lovely Dovedale is not very far away.

Dovedale

The site is close to, (but out of sight and sound of,) the main road (A515) where you can catch a bus to Ashbourne and Buxton.

Location: Ashbourne Heights Caravan Park: Coords, N53.055734 W1.742545

Although a large commercial site, we have secured within it, a field bounded on four sides with hedges. With the exception of one seasonal pitch occupied by a caravan, (and the site does not believe it will be occupied while we are there,) we have the enclosure to ourselves.
The Rally starts at 2.00pm Friday 24th June finishing at 11.00am Friday 1st July 2022.

This is a 7 Night rally. We have 35 pitches, (plus pitches for Stewards) in total, 17 pitches have 16amp EHU.18 pitches do not have EHU.

We WILL be operating a Reserve List.

The Cost? EHU Pitches are £112 per unit for the week.
Non EHU Pitches are £50 per unit for the week (This is not a misprint! It is £50)

Payment: Once this Rally goes ‘Live’ at 7.00pm on Sunday 9th January and you have got onto the list of attendees, you will be included in a ‘Conversation’ indicating how and the means to pay.
There will be, initially, a £15 Deposit with the remainder being due by the 1st April.
(I have already committed a substantial sum to the site by way of a deposit for this event. In addition the site requires payment in Full before Easter. Thank you in advance for your understanding in this matter)

NB We do appreciate that there may be Funsters who, for genuine reasons, have to cancel once final payment has been made. We will repay your payment if your place is taken by a Funster on the Reserve List. Once full payment is made I cannot repay you in any other circumstances because the site will insist on retaining your money.

Dogs: Dogs are allowed and I understand there is a separate dog walking area.

Toads: There is a car park nearby where these may be parked.

Third Party Bookings will not be accepted.

Except for Medical reasons, Generators cannot be accepted..

Bookings for this Rally will go ‘Live’ at 7.00pm Sunday 9th January 2022. (not before!)

It is imperative that you tell me at the time of putting your name down to come to this rally whether you want an EHU or NON EHU pitch.

Elsewhere on Fun there are/will be details of the Rally that we are running at Bedale,
North Yorkshire. That rally ‘Follows on’ from Ashbourne starting on 1st July to 8th July.
Bedale goes ‘Live at 7.00pm Sunday 16th January.
