So , we bought a hymer B544 - never been a motorhomer before but were owners now .
We've spent today cleaning , wiping , washing and testing to see that's its all working - so far its ace ! - in fact I'm really impressed so were planning our first trip away next weekend ( not to far away of course ) , but I've just realised I have forgot to tax the MH so just done it now and I wasn't expecting £165 !!! . I was expecting full car tax price poss even more as its over 3.5 ton but no its actually cheaper - wow that's a bonus so roll on the weekend

Always thought the Hymer B544 was under 3.5 ton and therefore tax should be, I think, £265. It's £165 over 3.5 ton.

As it came as a surprise it may, or may not, also surprise you that you need a different driving licence.

Category C1 over 3500kg
Category B under 3500kg

Haha I knew about the license and we both have c1's - the cost of van tax is whatever it is , its a 4 ton vehicle so I expected it to be more than normal but defo not less - but £165 is ...... cheap ! -
