Last night we stayed on Le Bois Chaudron, a private aire that we have used since 2006. I gave details of this aire to Meli early doors and i think it went in book no.2. But, last night it was half full with 8 motorhomes so why does the book say 7?. All but us had elec for E2.50, we paid E5 for the night including fabulous baguette and croissant.
Btw if you do go, spend five minutes with him, on site, he owns the woods, fells the trees and pulls them in with horses. With this timber he builds Gypsy caravans (can i say that ) and sells one a month. Dont get me wrong, i have had ATA 1,2,3 &4 and think its great but this is so inaccurate

Sounds like a great aire, could you give us an idea where it is as its not listed as Le Bois Chaudron in the 4th edition. And also will they take a tag axle with a trailer during the winter months? Ta.

We stopped at this aire for the night 4 or 5 years ago. We spent the afternoon in the company of the owner and a couple from Belgium. None of us could speak the others language, but the wine and beer flowed and pretty soon we were all able to communicate with each other. The owner is a true craftsman his carriages are well worth seeing.

It may be listed as St. Maure de Touraine in the aires book.
