Hi MikeIndeed, and I'm seriously considering changing to them, even though the Michelins are brand new. The ride is horrible at 80 psi on the rear.
Strange how the company says the front can run at 56 psi, which is heavier than the rear axle on my van.
The advice I received (and it was exactly the same with the van before last in 2010, which unfortunately came [second-hand] with Michelins) appears to be based on the fact that in their opinion many/most motorhomes run overweight - which is what the individual reply I received indicated. And which in itself of course would be illegal.
The ride quality was transformed in my last van when the tyre pressures were lowered to those recommended by Continental, based on the actual axle weights.
If I was in your situation I would just drop the rears to a sensible figure relative to the axle weights (you can work it out yourself from the front) I would not see their 80 psi "recommendations" as any more than that. Our van is now 10 years old so I imagine pre camping tyres, the original fit was Michelin Agilis 81 and in the back of the manual was a tyre pressure chart from Michelin giving correct pressures relative to axle load.
