I swapped my old two dial Truma boiler set up for the newer CP control and fitted the new mother board on the boiler, I'm sure with the old controls the boiler worked on electric. But when I try to select electric only now I can't see the electric symbol on the CP control.
I have looked in the instructions and no matter what I do the electric option is not there.

Is it possible I bought the wrong motherboard for the Truma boiler ? or am I mistaken and the Truma is just gas only ?

Do your old controls show any electric settings?

Yes, if I remember correctly but we hardly ever used it. We are away in the morning and was going to put the heating on tonight, 5 or 6C so we can fill up the water tank, and get the van warm as it's about -3c at moment. These are our old controls.

Okay, just checked, the motherboard is Combi 6/03 V05 so should be correct, the Truma sticker on the boiler states Combi 6E, also states 230v 900/1800W

CBE 603 -22110579

so possible I'm doing something wrong with control panel ? but it definitely doesn't show the electric sign only gas bottle.

Bottom control shows its a Combi with electric. The option for electric will only be visible when you go into the energy selection setting - 3rd icon at the top of the cp plus screen. You twist the knob clockwise to move across to this setting then press it and then rotate the knob to cycle through the energy settings. Sorry if I'm just repeating what you've already tried.

I've had a quick look through the range of pcb's and the 6 and 6e pcb's have the same part number. The 4 and 4e pcb's ,which are the same, have a different part number. Can't tell if yours is a 4 or 6 variant.

Patrick

Edit - I was a bit slow typing

Is there a separate switch that controls the 230v supply to the unit that needs turning on ? I think there is also a 230v fuse in the section below the PCB on the boiler

I would not expect the new control panel , which gets its information from the boiler , to show the mains power icon if there is no mains power at the boiler , maybe could it be that it is the 230v reset button on the boiler unit needs pressing ?

chippy63 www.caratechcaravanparts.com lists the CP plus control panel (as do others ) and if your Truma Combi boiler is the later type it may already have the required PCB fitted to connect to the later CP plus control panel ( 2013 onwards with a black body boiler , instead of grey) . if in doubt ,check with Truma giving them the serial number on the boiler and they should be able to tell you if your boiler is CP plus ready.

BusyBuilder and others, I need to replace/repair the control panel on my 2013 6E combi boiler, but can't see how to get at the control panel to remove it.
The manual shows how to remove the top part of the casing to get at the 12V fuse. Its easy as it just lifts off upwards, Can anyone explain how to remove the rest of the casing to get at the whole of the control panel. I'll like to do this with the boiler in situ which has limited access. Thanks in advance.

SomeoneElse There is a strip down for the Truma Combi shown in the Motorhome technical articles part of the Resources section (in the site menu) that shows the PCB and how it is held in place which may help.

There are two torq screws at the top each end and the plastic cover lifts off upwards.
The pcb is held on by plastic push tabs on the edgeā€¦šŸ˜Ž

Yes, once the two screws are out it lifts out and upā€¦

I did look on line for a replacement and there are a few about but in the end I fixed mine by soldering a dry joint that I foundā€¦

Just smiffy I bought our MH new in 2013, the boiler worked flawlessly until this year, when I switched it on in September I nothing happened no lights on the controls (same controls as posting #3). There is 12V at the control panel and fuses are both good, I'm hoping there a 12V to 5V voltage regulator on the board that's blown and can be replaced. I've been clearing up Christmas stuff this afternoon once I've found my torq bits I'll take it out and get it inspected by my son who is big on electronic.

Itā€™s only just recently I know about this as Iā€™ve only had the van a short while.
My problem was that it was working just fine then I pressed reset on the controller then I couldnā€™t get it to work again, after several fixes from problem I found (mostly dry joints) it still didnā€™t work, I then fed a direct 12v feed to the heater and it works so I have a problem with the ds300 that feeds itā€¦ Iā€™ll resort to giving it its own feed from the battery with a fused line to solve itā€¦.
