Hi

Just bought the van (Hymer Exsis-i 562) home after last using in Spain at Christmas. Water all drained out on return.

I have filled up with water and with the electrical safety valve closed water (red plunger in up position) is still dumping from the boiler, i.e. cannot run water at full pressure as it will not fill boiler but continuously dumps. I have put the boiler on to warm up and it makes no difference.

Interestingly, water is not dumping from discharge pipe but somewhere else under the van. Previous suggestions on here have been air vent but I have watched this while pump is running and water is not being transported along this.

Any ideas appreciated.

At the top of the boiler on the side there is a T piece it will be either red or grey. This is the release valve that lets air out while the boiler is filling the one way valve in it sticks and dumps your water.
Avalable from Leisure Shop Direct about a tenner.

Lenny, thanks for that. I have looked at this following previous posts that you commented on. Water certainly seems to be discharging from an air vent? underneath the van as opposed to the dump water pipe but there is no water flowing through the air vent / t-piece at the top of the boiler. Lenny, not sure if I'm being a bit thick here. I presume the photo I posted is the t-piece you are on about and that this is the water inlet into the boiler? If this is not functioning then water will flow through the air vent, yet when I run the pump water is dumping but is not flowing through the air vet pictured.

Just had another look. Definitely not dumping from the air vent from top of boiler but another air vent type pipe that seems to be below the safety/drain valve?

Jut checked again, definitely draining from hose beneath the valve. May need new unit?

There are only 2 water pipes to the boiler, cold water in via dump valve and hot water out via vent valve.
Attached are the installation instructions.

Got that, thanks.

Having looked I am not sure it is anything to do with the boiler itself.

When I run the pump with the dump valve closed, water dribbles out the taps and is being discharged at the vent pipe directly beneath the dump valve.

Is the dump valve leaking or seal in it gone only other things are the drain down taps the O rings/seals fail in them.

I would suspect the drain cocks - the two knurled round knobs in your first picture. If you unscrew them too much to drain down, they can become detached from the activator mechanism inside and free-wheel. Or, as Lenny says, perhaps the o-rings have failed.

Removed drain cocks and reinserted, tightened up and all seems OK now! Note sure why as both were tightened up previously. Thanks for all the advice :)
