We are booked in with Eddievanbitz as we have a ford based MH :D. Our van is only worth half of some of the gin palaces but to us it is priceless so we feel it is worth saving for the best.
Why should some scrotes get hold of our MH ?:swear2:

For many years, Ford locks have been rubbish. I feel sorry for people buying a new vehicle then being advised to fit additional security. Luckily, there is a lot you can do yourself to keep yours secure.

Why does the manufacturer seem to be devoid of responsibility here? Fit for purpose? Should Ford not be helping to close their inherent exposures for their customers?

Ford don't want the liability of having to recall and change the locks and immobiliser system for not only all their Transits but their cars are also a problem by the seem of it!

The only way to force them to improve for the future is to refuse to buy their vehicles and for those that have them to reject them and demand their money back.

Apparently, with the latest Fords at least, it isn't a lock problem as such: they are keyless entry and start. A video linked on here a few days ago showed a low-life outside the owners house using an electronic device to either talk to the vans fob (which was somewhere inside the owners house) or to hack the vehicle security system. Once he could talk to the vehicle he could both unlock and start it. If the main method is to first access the fob a simple security method is to keep it well away from the exterior of the house or to drop it into a metal box when not in use - and it's hard to see how Ford could solve that particular problem. If the would-be thief is hacking the vehicle electronics directly then that is certainly down to Ford.

Does make us concerned about buying a transit custom MH, interested to see if the security issues have deterred others
