Hiya. Has anybody used a company called Redstonefleetcare in Redhill Surrey? I’m thinking about getting them to replace the timing belt etc on my beast. I’m feeling a bit nervous as it is a big job and can go horribly wrong but Fiat quoted £1,500

Which one Lenny was it you who had it done last year For £1,000
Redstonefleetcare said about £650 but it could be more if there is a problem with the tensioner bolts

Nope £573 at Adams Morey Portsmouth.
I think it's a couple of hundred more now, they were taken over just after I had mine done and labour rates shot up.

£738 at Adams Morey Portsmouth, last week C class, place absolutely chocka with work but booked in 3 days.
Well that doesn’t sound bad at all as they are Fiat main dealer. What age is your van please?

The 2.8 is an easier engine to change belt and associated parts than the later ones, add to that it is not so essential to change the water pump, I'd suggest a reasonable price from a competent non franchise company would be in the £5-600 region for your Niessman

Bottom left of the post you'll see Edit, just click on that and make changes you wish, but you only have a limited time to do so.
Thanks for both inputs. I was trying to delete the double posts but it won’t let me.

Tensioner and idler pulley's should be replaced at same time as belt regardless of condition.
For what they cost it's not worth the risk.
He is meaning the bolts not the actual tensioner I think.
If the bolts won't budge there is a danger of them snapping if forced. An expensive outcome! Fiat have a special tool that apparently can avoid and resolve this situation but that involves additional cost.
