After my throttle problems yesterday immediately following a full service on my 2002 B544 it now turns out to have been wet connections on the ECU apparently. Not been able to speak to dealer yet, but had an email from them just before close of work to say that problem was found to be water egress onto the ECU connections. Need to get some more details tomorrow but am somewhat surprised by their findings and unsure how quite it could happen?

It's fixed at least, no parts but a fairly hefty labour charge of £220!

Perhaps someone pressure washed the engine bay?

Usually sweat from the Tecs brow as panick set in when he aint got a clue;)
The really anoying thing is, he in all probability stumbled across it during 4+ Hrs of Diagnostics plugging and un plugging all else having failed.

Even more anoying if he found it in the first two minuets, what followed would have been 4+ Hrs of diagnostics to prove it wasn't a fluke

Even more anoying than both of those. is a big bill was on its way whatever the outcome

Should have just got it home...probably would have dried out by the morning. Does engine bay look clean? Maybe they did wash it....

    It's a bit of a coincidence!.. I wouldn't be paying anything!
