Can anyone give me some advice please.

Thetford Fridge.
Model N3142
Serial. E116T1000025
Fittied to Hymer MLi620 2016
Under guarantee.

Not cooling on gas, flame is burning blue, as normal and everything looks clean. Works fine on electric.

My nearest Thetford dealer 3 A's in Carmarthen, Wales is not helpful and says we need to go through Hymer and anyway they are booked until May.

Can you please suggest what I can try, or do next. Have you found any similar problems?

I need it working without delay.

Replace the jet. You can try cleaning it but it's rarely worth doing - in fact with a Thetford it will be a combined burner & jet. I've had this same fault (on an older fridge) & a partially blocked jet will still burn with an apparently OK flame. Your fridge works because heat is applied to one section of its innards: that heat can come from electrical elements (in the case of mains or 12v) or from a gas flame. The fridge is OK when it gets enough heat from electric and obviously doesn't get enough heat on gas.

I agree clean jet and burner also clean the chimney.

Cheers, I will take the jet out and have a look but the burner is still new and shiny, with no soot in the tray. It used to be easy to clean the old fridge chimney, but this new tall one is not accessible at the top end, it's an arm length down from the top vent and from what I can just about see it has a white matchbox shaped thing fixed to the top of it. All the pipe work inside the top vent is sealed and I can't see any way of getting the bits out of the chimney without pulling the whole damn thing out.

I know you imported your van and with a Hymer you can take it to any Hymer dealer in Europe. Hymer official stance on warranty is, the dealers responsible for warranty work on your van are your supplying dealer and the dealer closest to your home address.

I personally wouldn't go messing around with too much. It's not far to Telford and I find them very helpful.

Did you move the van in between your gas and electric test? If so is your van level now? Our 2016 Hymer has a Thetford fridge and it is VERY sensitive to being level.

GERONIMO! Took the clean looking burner & jet out, looked perfect but carefully got the thinnest bit of wire and blew through the jet, still couldn't see any dirt, but there must have been the tiniest bit. Fired up and soon had ice for a gin & tonic!
Interesting, after a week, two emails to Campirama and two to Thetford ... no replies yet.
and the nearest Thetford service centre (3A's) wasn't interested until May at least.
Makes you wonder if warranties are worth having.

Wem born and bred, family had a pork butchers here for years.
I can understand why you bought in Belgium, I had my Dethleffs from Germany. I had a problem with the fridge and tbf Travelworld sorted it out straight away.
They want their arses kicking for not sorting a quote though.
