Hi

My motorhome has a thetford porta potti SC234. When I remove the holding tanks to empty it there is 'fluid' in the holding tank area. I understand this might be due to an aged lipseal. Has anyone else got experience of this issue (yuck).

Thanks

Terry

Seals can become hard with age - certainly on the built in toilet types. They can normally be replaced (see Thetford Europe web site). Sometimes you can rejuvenate the seal by cleaning it with olive oil and leaving it somewhere warm where it can soften.

Definately the lip seal, I had this problem a few weeks ago. Despite the motorhome only being 2 years old. Easy job, you can do it 10 minutes. Make sure you get the correct seal as there are 3 types.
