Handover tomorrow morning when we take possession of a new Hymer B588 DL, can't wait, our first A class, our AT was taken in yesterday so they can transfer over the Alugas system they have given us a courtesy car as it's nearly 50 miles to dealers. To say we are really looking forward to it is an understatement . The dealer has plated it up to 3850 kg for us, fitted a Solar panel and additional leisure battery. First job in morning is to set the Tracker contract up.
It's our first A class, OH wanted me to downsize from 4250kg I'll be 70 in a couple of years so I wanted to maximise interior room (and always wanted an A class) We spent a year looking and all at 3500kg had very small payloads. So budget totally blown.
Interesting times ahead as we're on the ferry to Bilbao on 18th January (leaving home on the 14th) life is going to be frantic over next 8-9 days.

Enjoy your new van.
The A class will seem strange at first. I didn't think I would have any trouble after driving all sorts of vans in the past but it took a while to get used to that huge screen that was a long way in front. LHD didn't help much but it wasn't long before I got in the swing of it.
Now I love getting behind the wheel.

Have fun. (y)

Richard.

Another AT bites the dust !!!?

Enjoy the new van :)
Thanks Steve two new AT's and really couldn't face the problems associated with buying another, they have a good product but really need to get a grip on quality issues.

Enjoy your new van and your travels Stewart (y)

It was always my dream to retire into an A-Class Hymer, until me and the boss lady split up last year and buying a house took priority.

Ooooooooo how exciting! We love ours (Hymer B564). They do take a bit of getting used to, but once you get your head around the fact that there is hardly any van in front of the windscreen, they aren't difficult to handle. Even for me - the woman of the partnership....... ;) Have fun, have adventures, and enjoy!

Great handover, just love the van though the first 20 miles of twisty rural roads and meeting some large vehicles was quite an experience driving my first ever A class. Our grand-daughter Charlie was upset when we handed in the Mohawk a couple of days ago ( she has travelled with us since a babe so cannot remember anything else) but loves the Hymer christening it "Hervie" don't know why! Now the learning curve begins big time. Loving it

O, I'm soooo jealous, I have a dream of owning one of those, but unfortunately No2 son needed a hand with his house buying so that was the end of dreaming for us, never mind we still have our Hymer CL which is still great.

Wish you all the best with your new MH, enjoy it :)

Hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy our Laika. It will certainly be warmer in the front this weather. If its like ours it has heating pipes everywhere .. Ours was a bit hard on the front suspension till we let the tires down. Loaded it up and got it weighed ( Front and back axle ) then asked tyre manufacturer for tyre pressures. Really made a difference. Garage normally put 80psi in all round.
